Shadow under the bridge - Old School Photography
Shadow under the bridge, originally uploaded by Christopher Preece. So this is the first film from a Voigtlander Bessa R and 35mm Skopar Classic Lens. Using a rangefinder camera is a little new to me, although I use the viewfinder on my Canon G10 quite a lot, this is a different experience. I'm pleased with the results of this first film, nice... »
School Wood
School Wood, originally uploaded by Christopher Preece. What a great winter we are having, lots of long walks in the Herefordshire countryside. The snow changes the landscape so much, it provides light and simplifies all around it. More winter... »
Helen
Helen, originally uploaded by Christopher Preece. Taken whilst out for a winter walk, hence Helen's healthy complexion. We were inside a dilapidated farm cottage in the middle of nowhere when Helen walked into this natural spotlight. Camera was an Olympus E520 and 40-150mm lens hand... »
Abby Whyte
Abby Whyte, originally uploaded by Christopher Preece. Abby taken in July, in the Sullivan House temporary studio with lots of Elinchroms and a plain paper background. No posing required, just let her natural self show through - stunning! A little bit of Photoshop to sort out the colours and contrast and something special to make her radiate. Thanks Abby for being so... »
Stef Green
Wow. Not my photograph of this charming young lady, but her fantastic profile. The hair by Kate Price (at A List Hair Studio & Beauty Clinic in Hereford) makes it (it was pink for only a week or so!). Thanks to Kate and Stef for giving up their well earned lunch breaks to model for me in my make-shift studio in... »
Natalie has her photo taken
Natalie 5, originally uploaded by Christopher Preece. Natalie is a work colleague who I have taken a few casual photos of in the office. However I have been lucky enough to set up a temporary studio up in an adjacent office. So after a little gentle persuasion she agreed to sit (and stand) for a short session. She was quite nervous at... »
Worcester and Birmingham canal
Worcester and Birmingham canal, originally uploaded by Christopher Preece. I don't do much black and white film photography these days, however I have found a way to re-create my favourite look on digital using Photoshop. This looks like Ilford FP4 with a red filter, developed in Paterson Aculux and printed on Ilford Multifibre paper at grade 4. I guess this is all academic... »
Titch in-a-box
Titch in-a-box, originally uploaded by Christopher Preece. Helen getting ready for the 'big move', so what does she do? She put's herself in the box! This was the best of 10 handheld shots and the least blurred taken with an Olympus E520 set at 400 asa. I'm still not totally convinced buy this camera, I find Canon DSLR's far more intuitive... »
Severn Bridge
Severn Bridge, originally uploaded by Christopher Preece. I wanted to photograph the new Severn Crossing from the original suspension bridge. I only had a few minutes before a rain storm came up the river, however this created some interesting lighting on the water. The bridge on it's own was too bland, but including part of this pylon gives it some depth.... »
