29 St Martin's Street

29 St Martin’s Street, Hereford 2010

29 St Martin’s Street in Hereford was home to my Grandparents, my Mother and my seven Uncles and Aunties. When the last of my Aunties, Eve, moved out, the house was sold. This project was to record the interior of the house, however my Uncle Bob had arranged for the remaining furniture to be removed and taken for auction. This gave me a virtually empty building to photograph.

As Uncle Bob took me around I sensed some melancholy in him as he became quiet and pondered each room. This was no doubt down to the memories that he had of the house when it housed ten people. He and I were both mourning the end of an era.
