Fair People 2018
Traditionally the annual May Fair comes to Leominster before first Bank Holiday weekend in May. Within the medieval town the main square, Corn Square, and Broad Street are closed for traffic from Thursday until Sunday. On Thursday rides are £1 before 6pm, so the fair is busy as soon as school is out.
The neighbouring town of Ludlow, in Shropshire, has it’s annual May Fair at the same time before the stalls and rides move on into Wales or further into the West Midlands. The streets are closed in and around the square and you can see the rides and lights in the narrow streets from high up on the Whitcliffe Hill.
Hereford May Fair runs straight after the May Day Bank Holiday, again in the streets of the city, Tuesday to Thursday. It winds its way right through the heart of the old City which makes it even more atmospheric.
